New Year – New Book – About Overcoming the Pits

I kicked off my New Year with a rewrite of the book I wrote in 2010.

The Old Made New

The original “old” book was called, “Read My Lips Tips for Success.” Now it is called, “Thirty Tips to Get Out Of the Pits.” Much of the original material is there, edited for better clarity, plus a few newbies. Having lived through the cancer experience, I felt it necessary to include what I learned from that journey. Afterall, having cancer is a real deep pit. Not fun. Not fun at all. However, having lived through it and coming out the other side?  Peachy. Real peachy. Seriously.

The book was formatted and designed by Circe Denyer.  It is just beautiful.  It has a peach tree theme, with a  “Peach Pit” tagline running throughout it. The rationale for that theme is that the peach has a pretty good size pit that can become a beautiful peach.  She did a good job, and I am SO appreciative of her efforts. There’s nothing easy about formatting a book! It is not a task you ever want to attempt on your own. Not if you want people to read your book. Instead, you’ll likely slip into the pits!

The Journals

Circe had the GREAT idea of creating a journal to accompany the pits book. It was because I mention in the new book the value of daily noting the things for which we feel gratitude, and appreciation as well as our victories (small or significant) along with a couple of “wouldn’t it be nice if?” items. I have found the latter to be the easiest way to practice visualization.
I have a black and white 365-page journal (no dates, though, so you don’t feel guilty if missing a day or two) and a color 90-day journal – again, no dates. The book is black and white.
